Celebrating Black History Month

8th Grade Social Studies students in Ms. Warner's class read and analyzed the powerful speech, "What Is Your Life's Blueprint?" by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in commemoration and celebration of Black History Month. Students reflected on their own life's blueprint, discussing their hopes and dreams for the future, as well as their past and present examples of success. Students also celebrated friends, family, teachers, and adults in their lives that strive to live the way that Dr. King urged his audience to in his speech.

Mrs. Braxton created this beautiful bulletin board to share this historical speech with the larger OAS community and to amplify the voices of our 8th grade students in an effort to encourage all of our students to consider the question, "What is your life's blueprint?"
